HI Rok Farm is a full-service boarding/training facility in the heart of horse country in Essex MA.

The environment at Hi Rok is one of relaxation and inclusion. Everyone from the serious recreational rider to the avid competitor is supported and encouraged on his/her personal equestrian journey. Although hunters and jumpers are the emphasis, all riders are encouraged. We have event riders and several riders who choose to focus on flatwork only.

We believe that success under saddle starts with good horsemanship on the ground including a regular schedule, proper nutrition, ample forage, turnout and cross training. We have helped countless riders achieve a better relationship with their horse which has given a sense of accomplishment and confidence to them both in and out of the show ring.

Chrissy started out riding in Hamilton MA at the tail end of its eventing hay day.  She trained with J. Michael Plumb, Jiffy Reed and Arlene “Tuny” Full.  She ended her eventing career as the north American young rider champion. After receiving her BS degree from Cornell University she bought a great little chestnut OTTB who jumped great but had no desire to go cross country so she turned to the show ring where he shined. Since then she has won countless ribbons and championships in both the hunter and jumper rings. Mark Jungherr and Kristi Smith have been her coaches for years and she still continues her education with them at horse shows up and down the east coast.
Chrissy has been a professional of the north shore of Boston for over 20 years.  Over the years she has leased space on many different farms and ran her business under the name Essex Equestrian Center but in 2018 when she finally found a property that “ticked all the boxes” she purchased that property and Hi Rok Farm began. Since then the buildings have been completely renovated and land has been cleared for new paddocks. Both she and her customers are very happy to finally have a place to call home.
